Managing your updates using the Plugin Boutique App means that you’ll always know when a newer version of your product is available and can be one of the first to try it.
To install an update, just click the Update button on the product of your choice. The result of clicking the Update button will depend on how your product’s installers are delivered.
- If your product's installer is a .exe or .pkg file, you’ll see a spinning animation on the product tile. This tells you that we’re currently downloading your installer and it’ll be opened automatically as soon as it’s downloaded. The time this takes will depend on the size of the installer and the speed of your internet connection.
- If your product's installer is in a .zip file or similar, this will be downloaded to your Downloads folder (or the download location you’ve set within the Settings tab of the Plugin Boutique App), however, it will not be extracted or run automatically. You’ll also need to head to your Downloads folder (or the download location you’ve set within the Settings tab), to extract the compressed file and run the installer yourself.
- If your product installer needs to be downloaded from a third party software brand’s website, the Download button will open your web browser as well as the software brand’s website, where you can sign up and use your redeem code to download your software. It is recommended to follow the Install Guide next to the Update button.
