Here are a few solutions for issues that have happened for some users.
No MIDI input
Check that your DAW is configured to send a MIDI signal to the track on which you loaded Scaler.
Depending on your software you might need to select or arm the track you wish to send MIDI to.
When using ScalerControl, ensure that an instrument with the sound output enabled is loaded on the same track as the MIDI effect plugin.
When using ScalerAudio, make sure that the track is armed and/or monitored.
No audio input
When using Scaler 2, check that you have routed the audio signal correctly into Scaler.
When using ScalerAudio 2, make sure there is audio content playing on the track.
You can test Scaler audio detection is working properly with the following audio WAV file:
Scaler should return the following results (if you move the chords to section C and transpose down an octave in Edit mode then select ‘Housey’ internal sound it should sound very similar):
I can't hear anything
Check that the sound output in Scaler is enabled, an instrument should be selected. Check that the channel on which you loaded Scaler is not muted in your DAW.
When using ScalerControl, ensure that an instrument with a sound output enabled is loaded on the same track as the MIDI effect plugin.
When using ScalerAudio make sure that the track is armed and/or monitored.
Incorrect window size
If you have trouble viewing the whole window, try resetting the Scaler window to its minimum size. Hold down the option key (macOS) or alt key (Windows) while clicking on the Scaler logo at the top left of the window.
Resizing issues
Users of the VST2 version of Scaler can experience an odd behaviour when resizing the plugin window.
- Workarounds:
- Use the VST3 version of Scaler 2 as it is not affected by this issue.
- Use Scaler 2 at its default size (1000x700). This seems to prevent most redrawing issues.
